Düsseldorf-based DeepTech startup RIIICO has secured €5 million in Seed funding to enhance its AI platform for creating digital twins, aimed at improving resilience and competitiveness in industrial factories.

The funding round was led by PropTech fund Pi Labs, with participation from seed + speed Ventures, WaVe-X, Earlybird Venture Capital, and Volvo Cars Tech Fund.

“With our lead users in the automotive sector, we’ve already proven the value of our solution under extreme cost pressures and high-quality demands. With our new investors, spearheaded by lead investor Pi Labs, we aim to enhance the connection between real factory environments and digital models, boosting flexibility to strengthen industry resilience and competitiveness,” said Felix Fink, CEO of RIIICO.

Founded in 2021, RIIICO develops an AI-based platform that digitally models and redesigns established factories (brownfields), enabling faster adaptation to new products or processes. Unlike new greenfield plants built from scratch, many Western manufacturers must upgrade complex, operational sites — a costly and error-prone task.

RIIICO’s solution automates the detection of machines and infrastructure using LiDAR scans, generating detailed 3D digital twins. This collaborative tool accelerates process redesign by up to four times, facilitating faster product launches.

In the automotive industry, RIIICO’s platform helped retrofit factories for electric vehicle production, reducing costly on-site revisions and setting new standards for efficiency and quality.

“RIIICO has the potential to use AI to transform how factories redesign manufacturing facilities in response to business demands and shifting market conditions,” said Faisal Butt, Founder and Managing Partner at Pi Labs. “The platform converts LiDAR scans of complex production environments into collaborative, predictive 3D models using proprietary deep learning algorithms. RIIICO is uniquely positioned to become a critical enabler for industrial facilities under increasing cost pressure, helping them operate more efficiently and competitively.”
