ComNav Technology has released the SinoGNSS LS600, a handheld 3D laser scanner combining centimeter-level RTK positioning, advanced SLAM algorithms, and high-resolution imaging. Designed for both indoor and outdoor environments, the SinoGNSS LS600 enables continuous data capture with minimal setup.

At its core, the SinoGNSS LS600 merges Real-Time SLAM with Camera-Assisted SLAM and ComNav’s own GNSS module, offering improved alignment and signal reacquisition even under challenging conditions. Its LiDAR system supports scanning up to 640,000 points per second with a 360° × 270° field of view, providing three scanning configurations:

  • 16-line mode: 320,000 pts/s with 120 m range

  • 32-line mode: 640,000 pts/s with 120 m range

  • 32-line (extended): 640,000 pts/s with 300 m range

The scanner is equipped with dual 48MP panoramic cameras, delivering photorealistic color capture. Its 6DOF IMU and visual-SLAM fusion enhance accuracy and stability in complex environments.

An integrated GNSS module and survey-grade antenna improve satellite tracking and signal reliability. Combined with a high-performance CPU offering up to 1.2T computing power, the SinoGNSS LS600 enables real-time SLAM-RTK fusion and supports up to 90 minutes of continuous scanning.

SinoGNSS LS600 Key Workflow Advantages

The Flash Point Cloud Technology allows users to view point cloud data immediately after scanning. This feature enables real-time field validation, reducing the need for repeat scans and minimizing delays.

Unlike traditional SLAM workflows, the LS600 does not require loop closures. In GNSS-denied areas such as basements or tunnels, users can place ground control points (GCPs) and apply coordinate transformation in post-processing to retain centimeter-level accuracy.

Post-Processing and Visualization

The LS600’s onboard data is compatible with ComNav RealEditor, supporting enhanced 3D point cloud generation. Additional features include:

  • SpectraColor™ Technology: True-to-life color with <1 cm layer resolution

  • Intelligent Noise Reduction: Cleaner data in dynamic conditions

  • Precision Edge Definition: Detailed architectural rendering

  • Multi-projection & coordinate conversion support

  • User-focused software interface

Ergonomics and Hardware Features

The LS600 offers plug-and-play operation, eliminating complex setup procedures. The device is delivered with two rechargeable battery sticks, each lasting 1.5 hours, with support for fast charging (30 min). The ergonomic battery compartment and LED power indicator optimize field use.

The scanner includes a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (400MB/s) for fast data transfer. It supports both handheld and vest-mounted operation, offering flexible use across diverse work scenarios.

Applications

With 3 cm absolute and 2 cm relative accuracy, the SinoGNSS LS600 is applicable across industries:

  • Construction monitoring & as-built documentation

  • Forest and vegetation mapping

  • Utility infrastructure & urban renewal

  • Mining and bulk material volume analysis

  • Emergency response and public safety operations
